Fantasy – A particular favourite of mine. I love to write and read epic fantasy that has a strong historical flavour. I’ll be featuring books that I’ve read and some of my approaches when building worlds. I generally don’t read dark fantasy as a rule, however, if anyone has read or written in this branch of the genre and feel the fiction is well worth a look, let me know. I’d love to discover new reads.
Sci Fi/Dystopian – I’m currently tackling this genre with a continuation of To Wander A Pale Sky, my short story in Tales From The Cafe: Vol 1. The story will hopefully be worked into a novel this year. I’d love to hear from anyone who has read any great dystopian/apocalyptic stories or those who just love writing it.
Supernatural – One of my earliest loves when it came to reading as a child. Ghosts or esoteric subjects form the foundations of my writing inspiration. Must have come from living in old haunted buildings for most of my life. I’m always on the look out for good ghost stories to read.
Magical realism, historical fiction, horror and mysteries – All feature to a certain degree in the stories that I write. I’m fascinated by the weird and the wonderful, and have a keen interest in folklore and stories or cultural ideas that have been passed down through the generations.
